The first in the list of underwater attractions, is a rather, interesting one. The Vanuatu Post has created the world’s first and only underwater post office in the Hideaway Island Marine Sanctuary. Visitors can grab a snorkel or a diving suit and head to the post office, which is submerged around three meters deep, to mail a special waterproof postcard with your message in it. These postcards can be mailed locally and internationally. Interesting right!

Atlantis, The Palm, Dubai -

Check into the swanky Atlantis, The Palm in Dubai and you get a chance to sleep with the fishes - in one of their tricked-out underwater suites. With floor to ceiling windows, be mesmerized by the marine life of the Ambassador Lagoon, a 3-million-gallon aquarium that looks right in at you. Of course, sea-life doesn’t come cheap, the Neptune and Poseidon suites go for more than $5000 per night!

The Underwater Room, Manta Resort, Zanzibar, Tanzania -

Board a wooden boat from the mainland and head over to your own private island at the Manta Resort as you're gently rocked to sleep in a bedroom that feels like a fish tank underwater. When you're ready to come up for air, simply relax and sunbathe on the floating deck. The double room will run you $1500 per night, but it's all-inclusive with three meals a day, cocktails, and even a spa treatment.

The Clear Lounge, Mexico -

The world's first underwater bar, located in Cozumel, Mexico, doesn’t serve alcohol. Instead, the Clear Lounge, is an underwater oxygen bar, which also sounds a bit oxymoronic until you discover that this is a place where people can don a bathing suit, plunge into water and play ‘Jenga’ (a game which is built on the simple premise of stacking blocks and which requires mental and physical skill)

Weeki Wachee Springs State Park, Florida -

Perhaps if you don't want to get wet, and you can definitely see some live mermaids swimming in a show. Weeki Wachee is an enchanted spring where you can see live mermaids, take a trip on a river boat cruise, learn about Florida wildlife, and swim in the pristine waters at Buccaneer Bay. Ithaa Undersea Restaurant, Maldives -

On the higher end of dining, visitors to the Conrad Maldives Rangali Island hotel can partake at Ithaa Undersea Restaurant, where lunch and dinner are served 16 feet below sea level. Tasting menus change frequently but might include such fare as Maldivian lobster carpaccio or grilled reef fish, which may or may not be disconcerting to eat while marine life carries on above and all around you.

Cancun Underwater Museum, Mexico -

It is the most famous underwater museum in the world! The beautifully carved sculptures were specially made for this spot. Sculptor Jason deCaires Taylor has created some incredible pieces which are rare to see. The museum highlights the relationship between art and environmental science, and all of the sculptures are made from materials that promote coral life. The site indeed attracts tourists and adventurers. The amazing museum can be admired from the glass-bottom boats, by snorkelling or scuba diving.

Monterey Bay Aquarium, Monterey, California, USA -

The aquarium was opened in 1984 and is one of the favourite and most visited museums in California. Infact it attracts over 1.8 million visitors every year. Founded on the Pacific Ocean shoreline the aquarium pumps water right from the Ocean and houses over 600 marine species. The marine museum offers various activities: from guided tours to animal and fish feeding, including diving to a sleepover!

Cleopatra’s Palace and Pharos Lighthouse, Alexandria, Egypt -

Alexandria’s Eastern Harbor is home to ruins believed to be remnants from Cleopatra’s Palace and the Pharos Lighthouse. The underwater artifacts include a small statue of a Pharaoh from the 4th or 5th century B.C., a colossal stone head of what is believed to be Cleopatra’s son, Caesarion, a sphinx statue, coins, sections of temples inscribed with hieroglyphics, and-of-course massive pieces of both Pharos Lighthouse and Cleopatra’s Palace.

Turtle Cave, Sipadan Island, Malaysia-

One of the most amazing highlights of diving in Sipadan is the Turtle Cave. Also to be known as the ‘Turtle Graveyard’ by the locals, this is claimed to be one of the most amazing highlights the island offers. So whenever you dive in there, don’t be fearful to see huge carcass of few poor turtles, because there’s an explanation why they have died. Plenty of small tunnels connect the chambers within the cavern, and several turtles enter the cave without ever finding their way out. These unlucky ones eventually drown and decompose, sad right. Well, to experience the same, this dive normally needs special arrangement and an experienced guide as it is a true overhead environment cave penetration.
